Dahil tatlo lamang ito, nakakayanang lamang nitong i-cover ang 30% ng Philippine air space,” the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.
DOTr said the CNS/ATM uses 13 radars and 1 satellite radar.
On January 31 this year, President Rodrigo Duterte led the inauguration of CNS/ATM at the Philippine Air Traffic Management Center (PATMC) in Pasay City.
DOTr said the CNS/ATM project started in 2009 but due to delay in construction and other challenges, it did not hit its target completion in 2016.
The Civil Aviations Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is now using the said system to avoid flight delays, maximize the use of all airports in the country, and ensure safe flights for passengers.
