Thailand welcomes newest naval warship

The Royal Thai Navy has welcomed its newest frigate built by South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), HTMS Bhumibol Adulyadej (FFG-471).

The frigate was named after Thailand’s King Rama IX (Bhumibol Adulyadej) who passed away in 2016.

The welcoming ceremony was held on January 7 at Sattahip Naval Base in Chonburi Province, Thailand.


According to Royal Thai Navy, HTMS Bhumibol Adulyadej, is capable of engaging in air, surface, and underwater warfare.
