PNP pilots train to fly ordered Bell 429 GlobalRanger

Seven Philippine National Police (PNP) Special Action Force (SAF) Air Unit personnel are currently in Fort Worth, Texas, United States to train how to operate and maintain twin-engine helicopter Bell 429 GlobalRanger.

3 of 7 PNP-SAF Air Unit personnel currently in US are pilots, while 4 are experts in helicopter repair and maintenance.

They are being trained by Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. at Bell Training Academy under Pilot Transition, Avionics and Aircraft Mechanic Field Training program as part of a helicopter deal.

PNP chief Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa issued the Notice to Proceed for the said procurement in July 2017 with contract price of PHP435,797,548.00.

According to PNP Chief of Directorial Staff Police Deputy Director General Archie Gamboa, delivery of the helicopter is expected in March this year.
