PNP acquires equipment worth P694 million

Assets worth PHP694,908,780.00 acquired by the Philippine National Police (PNP) were presented to Police Director General Oscar D. Albayalde during a blessing ceremony on January 14 during the flag raising ceremony at the National Headquarters, Camp Crame, Quezon City.

“The 11,245 units Undershirt Vest Level IIA, 4,169 units Waisltcoat Vest Level IIA with 2 Plates Level IV, 133 units High Frequency/Single Side Band Manpack, 700 units Rotary Blade/Propelled Wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), 20 units Mini Bus and 2,000 units Taurus TS9 Striker Fired Pistol were procured under the Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) Funds for CY 2017 and 2018 and Contingency Fund,” the PNP said.

The PNP said the Waistcoat Vest, UAV, Undershirt Level IIIA and HF/SSB Manpack will be issued to Police Regional Offices (PROs) and National Support Units for their capability enhancement on internal security operations’ equipage.

“The Striker Fired Pistol will be issued to PNP recruits while the Mini Buses will be distributed to PROs and Logistics Support Service (LSS) for general dispatch purposes,” it added.

“The acquisition of police basic equipment intensifies the operational readiness and police visibility of the PNP towards achieving a more capable, effective and credible police force in line with the directive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to accomplish the mission and functions of the organization,” the PNP said.
