PHL’s top diplomat, US National Security Advisor deepen US-PHL alliance

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., accompanied by Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez, met with United States National Security Advisor John Bolton on January 4, 2019 in Washington, D.C..

According to Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C., the meeting was held to deepen PHL-US ties and the role of the alliance in maintaining regional peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

“This is the first time that Secretary Locsin met with Ambassador Bolton since he became the Philippines’ top diplomat,” the embassy said.

Secretary Locsin said the meeting was “vastly enlightening, frank, wide-ranging yet sharply focused on the key issues.”
