PHL Navy commander deepens ties with JMSDF in Japan

Top leaders of Philippine Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) conducted a meeting in which they exchanged opinions, shared common recognition of concerns in this region, and agreed to enhance relationship, the JMSDF said.

Philippine Navy Flag Officer-in-Command Rear Admiral Robert A. Empedrad visited Japan from April 4 to 6 at the invitation of JMSDF Chief of Maritime Staff Office Admiral Yutaka Murakawa.

The two officials also signed the “Implementing Arrangement for Deepening Cooperation Between the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the Philippine Navy”.

The agreement aims for further cooperation that deepens the future relations between JMSDF and Philippine Navy.
