PHL allocates troops for UN peacekeeping missions

The Philippines has committed 90 Military Observers and Peacekeeping Staff; one Force Headquarters Support Unit; and one Aeromedical Evacuation Team to the UN Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System this 2019, National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said at the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Meeting on Uniformed Capabilities, Performance, and Protection in New York on March 29.

“Since 1963, the Philippines has never wavered or faltered in its commitment to peacekeeping missions,”  Lorenzana told the meeting.

“Our government is committed to make available all necessary resources for peacekeeping operations within the agreed response time,” he added. “Our Armed Forces is currently enhancing capabilities in support of future peacekeeping deployments.”
