Philippine Army seizes NPA hospital, hideout

The Philippine Army has announced the seizing of a cave being used by NPA as hospital and hideout. The cave was discovered by the 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion in Sitio Bulak, Barangay Lower Olave, Buenavista Agusan del Norte on February 27 around 9:30am.

“After scouring the cave, the government troops recovered two (2) Garand Rifles, ninety (90) pcs medicine (Atropine Sulfate) and subversive CNT documents,” said in report by Kalinaw News, the official online source of information on the pursuit for peace by the Philippine Army.

Kalinaw added that the cave is suspected to be used as hospital where the NPAs perform operations as manifested by the kind of medicines found in the area.


According to the report, the cave has an estimated area of 40×30 meters which can accommodate of fifteen persons.

“We express our gratitude to the concerned citizens for providing information regarding the suspicious individuals and CNT activities in the area. Through the cooperation of the residents, we can easily thwart the hostile plans of the CNTs,” said 23IB commander Lieutenant Colonel Francisco L. Molina Jr.
