PCG deploys assets to help secure Traslacion 2019

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has deployed a number of its naval assets to help secure the feast of the Black Nazarene and Traslacion 2019.

Among the floating assets deployed by PCG are 24-meter patrol vessels BRP Boracay (2401) and BRP Panglao (2402), one Parola-class Multi-role Response Vessel, five small crafts, four aluminum boats, eleven rubber boats, and eight rigid-hull inflatable boats.


These floating assets will secure waters of Manila Bay and Pasig River in coordination with PCG Auxiliary, Philippine National Police-Maritime Group (PNP-MARIG), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

The PCG also deployed K-9 units; Special Operation Unit divers and Special Operation Force strike team for water rescue when necessary; medical team onboard three different sea crafts to render medical assistance.

Meanwhile, Coast Guard District NCR-Central Luzon Quick Response Team will be on standby to render necessary support; and Coast Guard Auxiliary teams will be onboard rubber boats to render necessary assistance if needed, the PCG said.
