No missile was wasted during the live fire exercise involving two rounds of Israeli Spike-ER missile held by Philippine Navy off Lamao Point, Limay, Bataan today, November 21.
Both rounds hit the target. The exercise involved missile launch system and remote-controlled machine gun system installed on three multi-purpose assault crafts (MPACs) and an AgustaWestland AW-109 naval helicopter armed with 2.75-inch rocket system.
Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana who observed the drill was impressed.
“[Modern] technology has come to the Navy and we will use this technology to protect our seas,” Lorenzana said.
