Navy’s patrol corvette gets new commander

A new commanding officer for Philippine Navy Miguel Malvar-class patrol corvette BRP Pangasinan (PS-31) was installed on January 25 during a change of command ceremony held at Riviera Wharf in Subic Bay.

Cmdr. Jeric T Hechanova who commanded the ship for 1 year and 7 days handed over the helm to Lcdr. Salvador L Bon Jr. during the ceremony.

Lcdr. Salvador L Bon previously led the 1st Boat Attack Division of Littoral Combat Force.


The ceremony was presided by Commander Offshore Combat Force Commodore Caesar Bernard N Valencia with Commander Philippine Fleet Rear Adm. Danilo R Rodelas as the Keynote Speaker.

“Cmdr. Hechanova received the award of Command At Sea Plaque and Badge for having successfully commanded various vessels of Philippine Navy,” the Philippine Fleet said.
