Navy looking for missileman, torpedoman, sonarman

The Philippine Navy is in need of recruits qualified to operate and maintain radars, missile and torpedo systems.

“To all our Basic Seaman Course (BSC) applicants, please be informed that the Philippine Navy needs candidates with the following educational backgrounds for the corresponding Ratings/specializations,” the Philippine Navy Recruitment said.

For Sonarman 36 are needed for 2019, 40 Missileman are needed, 57 Torpedoman are need, and 32 Fire Controlman are needed.


Applicants for the above mentioned positions/ratings should have completed course like: mechatronics, advance telecommunication outside plant technician (optic fiber), computer electronics and communication technology, diploma in networking and telecommunication technology, and electromechanics technology program.

The Navy is also needing 58 torpedo technician, 53 sonar technician, 41 radar technician, 21 fire control technician, and 45 missile technician.


Applicants for the above positions/ratings should have educational background in mechatronics, instrumentation and control, 2-year electro mechanics technology program, electronics servicing NC2, auto elect component servicing NC2, electronics and telecommunications technology, information system, computer science, and information technology.

The Navy is also in need of 36 gas turbine technician with background in marine engineering, mechanical engineering, and industrial mechanics. The Philippine Navy’s recruitment website is http://recruitment.navy.mil.ph/
