Malaysian offshore patrol vessel arrives in Philippines

A Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) offshore patrol vessel (OPV) is currently in the Philippines for annual maritime training activity MTA MALPHI-LAUT 21-18.

The Malaysian ship arrived at Captain Salvo Pier, Naval Base Heracleo Alano in Sangley Point, Cavite on September 23.

“The Royal Malaysian Navy sent KD Selangor PV176 skippered by Commander Khairisharizal Salehin RMN to carry the participating Sailors in the annual MTA MALPHI-LAUT 21-18 hosted by the Philippine Navy at Naval Base Heracleo Alano from September 24 to 28, 2018,” the Philippine Fleet said.

MALPHI-LAUT 21-18 kicked off at the Naval Base Heracleo Alano on September 24.


Philippine Fleet commander Rear Admiral Danilo R. Rodelas and RMN Eastern Fleet Vice Admiral Datuk Abdul Rahman Bin Ayob graced the opening ceremony.
