Lawless group apprehended, high-powered firearms siezed

Combined troops of 37th Infantry Battalion, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-ARMM (CIDG-ARMM) and Maguindanao Provincial Police Office seized high powered firearms and apprehended lawless elements during the conduct of Law Enforcement Support Operation (LESO) on March 30, 2019 in Brgy Langkong, Matanog, Maguindanao.

The combined troops served the search warrant against the armed lawless group (Lumbos group) for violation of comprehensive law on firearms and ammunitions.

Apprehended were Guiaman Lumbos, Ali Lumbos, Samsudin Lumbos and Digna Lumbos Dirangaren and recovery of one cal .30 improvised sniper rifle, two M16 assault rifle, one M14 rifle, one carbine, one M16 rifle attached with M203 grenade launcher, one PRB Hand Grenade and assorted ammunitions and magazines.

The suspects and recovered firearms, ammunitions and magazines were now in the custody of CIDG-ARMM for appropriate filling of cases and dispositions.


“The successful LESO was made possible through the collaborative effort and deliberate planning among the security forces within the area of operation,” said Ltc Roberto C. Go Jr., Commanding officer, 37th Infantry Battalion.

“As an agent in promoting peace and development, the 603rd Infantry Brigade will actively support the law enforcement operation of the PNP to deter lawless elements from creating amuck and fear in the community,” said Col. Wilbur C. Mamawag, Brigade Commander, 603rd Infantry Brigade.

“In the quest for peace and development, unity is the key to success.” Said Major General Cirilito E. Sobejana, Commander 6th Infantry Division.
