MaxDefense Philippines has shared in its website a photo of Israeli company Elbit Systems Hermes 450 medium altitude long endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with Philippine Air Force (PAF) markings.

According to MaxDefense, the said Hermes 450 MALE UAV “is the freebie unit which will be used by the PAF to train in UAV ops in the Philippines while the rest of the Hermes 450 and Hermes 900 are being prepared for delivery between now and late 2020.”

MaxDefense, in its Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Program monitoring system, indicates that under the Unmanned Aerial System (Level 3) Acquisition Project, PAF is set to receive one complete system of Hermes 450 with 3 new UAVs and three complete systems of Hermes 900 with 3 new UAVs each.
