Duterte says Cobra attack helicopters expected next year

Security & Defense

President Rodrigo Duterte said during an event he hosted for the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. (PMAAAI) on October 5 in Malacañang Palace that the two used Cobra attack helicopters from Jordan will be delivered next year.

He said that when he visited Jordan early last month, the two attack helicopters were presented to him.

“Pagdating doon dinisplay talaga ‘yung dalawang Cobra,” he said. “Sinabi pa doon sa chief of staff, dagdagan mo pang isa, kaibigan mo, ah da pa isa. So nakita na namin ‘yung chopper.”

Philippine Air Force (PAF) pilots will undergo training prior to delivery next year.

“So nagte-training naman ‘yung mga piloto natin baka next year madala na ‘yon,” Duterte said.
