Davao City holds maritime exercise

The Davao City Maritime Council has conducted the Inter-Agency Maritime Law Enforcement and Search and Rescue Exercise 2019 in Davao Gulf.

The exercise aims to showcase and enhance the interoperability of mmber agencies in responding to maritime situations.

Among the agencies that participated in the said exercise were Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Davao City Police Office, Task Force Davao, TOWEM XI, Eastern Mindanao Command, Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, PDEA, Bureau of Customs, City Agriculturist Office, Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas, Davao Central 911, Public Safety and Security Command Center, MARIG XI, Marina XI, BFAR, PPA and Davao City Government.


According to PCG Southeastern Mindanao, floating assets and air assets of Davao City Maritime Council members were deployed on combating piracy, narcotics, and terrorism in scenarios to showcase their capability.

Aside from developing and upgrading response, coordination, and interoperability of member agencies, the exercise also aims to set standard of enforcing and protecting the city and its neighboring places.
