Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said during April 10 press briefing that non-regional forces should not cause trouble in West Philippine Sea.

He was asked regarding United States Navy multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD-1)’s operation in West Philippine Sea which was part of US-Philippines military exercise Balikatan 2019.

“I may need to check on the specific situation. I can tell you that the principled position of the Chinese side is that we hope non-regional forces will refrain from stirring up troubles in the calm South China Sea,” Lu Kang said.
