Senator-elect Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said he wants death penalty through public execution for convicted drug traffickers.

“Gawing public na maging katakot-takot sa mga tao na gumawa para ‘di pamarisan,” dela Rosa said in an interview in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

“[F]iring squad sa plaza, live, covered by the media,” he added. “Para makita ng taumbayan na hindi tayo dapat gumawa ng ganito, para maging deterrence ‘yan.”

Senator-elect dela Rosa was in Camp Crame to attend the Private Security Industry stakeholders’ summit as guest of honor and speaker.

The said summit aims to gather inputs and recommendations from stakeholders for policy review and possible amendment of Republic Act 5487 otherwise known as the Private Security Agency Law, an act to regulate the organization and operation of private detective, watchmen or security guards agencies.
