AFP sends off troops to secure 2019 elections

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) led by its Chief-of-Staff General Benjamin Madrigal Jr. conducted the send off of troops at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on May 7.

The troops will help secure the upcoming 2019 National and Local Elections on May 13.

“A total of 809 personnel and 28 vehicles from the AFP, 778 personnel and 23 vehicles from the Philippine National Police (PNP), and representatives from other stakeholders such as the Department of Education and Department of Health, were present in the ceremony,” AFP said.

At the ceremony, a total of 98,000 personnel from the AFP, 149,830 from the PNP, and over 1 Million officials and personnel from other agencies, stakeholders, and volunteer groups were committed and turned over by concerned officials to the Commission on Elections.
