6 NPAs killed in clash with Army

Philippine Army 9th Infantry Division (9ID) has reported the death of six NPA members.

“Six members of CPP-NPA Terrorists Group (CNT) were killed and numerous high-powered firearms were seized in the encounter at Barangay Lupi, Tinambac, Camarines Sur, 6:25 am, January 30,” 9ID said.

9ID cited a report saying the said clash transpired when troops from 83rd Infantry Battalion (83IB) were conducting operation in response to information they received about the presence of 15 armed terrorists in the said place.


“The said firefight ensued for almost 20 minutes and resulted to the death of six CTG members and confiscation three M16 rifle, one M16 with attached grenade launcher, ammunition, subversive documents and personnel belongings,” 9ID said.

“The recent incident was the third clash for this month as a result of the intensified operation being conducted by the Joint Task Force Bicolandia to address the CTG threats in the region,” it added.
