Senate cancels invitation to ‘Bikoy’

Politics & Governance

Senator Ping Lacson announced today that the Senate is recalling its invitation to Peter Joemel Advincula alias Bikoy for an inquiry on Friday regarding his allegations against President Rodrigo Duterte’s family and allies.

This is after Senate President Vicente Sotto IIIĀ revealed during a press conference how Advincula, in December 2016, reached out to him to link President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, and other allies to illegal drug trade.

However, Sotto decided not to make the accusation of Advincula public during that time after finding inaccuracies and loopholes from the accusation.

Sotto also highlighted how Advincula’s 2016 accusation is somehow identical with his accusation against President Duterte’s family and allies. The difference is the personalities being accused.

“SP Sotto said it all. We are now recalling the letter of invitation sent to Advincula yesterday. Notices will be sent out for the cancellation of the committee hearing on Friday. Enough of this nonsense,” Senator Lacson said.
