Duterte’s gift to Filipinos: Drug-free community before I step down

Politics & Governance

President Rodrigo Duterte said, during the 85th Anniversary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), that a drug-free community will be his gift to the Filipino people.

“You know the presidency is a gift from God. Sigurado ‘yan. Ako, my gift to the Filipino people, I will – linisin ko ito talaga before I go out. And I’ll give you a drug-free community. That will be my gift to you,” President Duterte said.

He said that he is willing to go to prison.

“Biruin mo ang social cost niyan. ‘Wag na muna ‘yang pinatay. Ang pinatay ng namin, ang sabi ng pulis 1,400. Oo ‘yan, amin ‘yan. Akin ‘yan, ako ang nag-utos. Ako ang magpakulong,” he said.

“I said that is my gift to you. I will go to prison. So? Ubusin ko talaga itong mga ito because you are destroying…,” he added.

The PResident said that illegal drugs create social dysfunction.

“‘Yan ang hindi na-realize ng mga bugok na obispo. They do not have that capacity to really get the dimension of it all. It’s not a matter of one f****** patay? Ilang pinagbilihan niya na pamilya? Ilang pamilya ang sumabog? Social dysfunction. It will destroy our country kaya p****** i** mo papatayin talaga kita. Itong isang patay, son of a b****. Sabi niya na: Ah only God..,” he said.
