America sells planes, ships, bullets; wants war to continue: Duterte

Politics & Governance

President Rodrigo Duterte said during the Distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Award to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries for Region XII in General Santos City on June 13 that United States wants war to continue because it sells military hardware.

“America sells planes, ships, and bullets. That is why America wants war to continue,” he said. “Because if no one will purchase planes, ships, and bullets from them, their people would lose their jobs and they won’t be able to sell any of their products abroad.”

He added that the Philippines does not build anything like ships and planes to sell. “Our people don’t have jobs while in America everyone has a job,” he said.

He said that because of jobs, everyone in US can easily own a car. “But here, it’s only for a few,” he said.

“One dollar is equivalent to 43 pesos. That is the value of our economy. We can’t just print money. Because if we can just print more money, I would have brought a copying machine and leave it here,” he added.
