“You cannot defeat the enemy without good intelligence,” Secretary of National Defense Delfin N. Lorenzana emphasized in his speech as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the conference on Future of Intelligence Solutions held at Manila Hotel, Manila on July 30, 2019.
Lorenzana stated that latest intelligence solutions would not only empower the defense organization in terms of addressing emerging threats borne out of advancing technology but can also boost the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ performance in its traditional operations, which utilize cyberspace anonymity as a platform for recruitment and operations.
“These threats are beyond the reach of ordinary intelligence solutions and, therefore, require superior and technologically advanced systems,” Lorenzana said.
According to the 2018 Global Economic Crime and Fraud Survey conducted by the PricewaterhouseCooppers, a UK-based audit, assurance, consulting and professional service firm, cybercrime is considered today’s fastest rising economic crime.
Lorenzana encouraged the participants to exert all efforts in securing and defending the networks of the defense organization in order to greatly support its mandated mission.
“A secure and resilient infrastructure is a key component in attaining complete information superiority,” Lorenzana said. DND
