Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)-Western Command (WESCOM) on July 16 awarded seabees of United States Navy and Philippine Navy with Military Civic Action Medal.
WESCOM said the awardees took part in the continuous Humanitarian Civic Assistance Project in the Philippines through the construction of one unit two-classroom school building at Sicsican Elementary School, Puerto Princesa City.
WESCOM commander Lieutenant General Rozzano Briguez led the awarding during the command’s flag raising ceremony at Headquarters Western Command.
“The recognition you received bespeaks well of your dedication to duty and, especially for the US Navy, a remarkable brand of service to the people, regardless of culture, race or color,” Briguez said.
“WESCOM is very grateful to the US Government and the US Navy Seabees as they continually made Palawan – our area of operations, the recipient of their Humanitarian Civic Assistance Projects,” he added.
