US Naval Academy graduate joining Philippine Navy

Officer Candidate (OC) Pauline M. Fornea, who is a recent graduate of Unites States Naval Academy rendered a courtesy call to Philippine Navy Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo J. Bacordo today, May 26.

Fornea completed the degree Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and Robotics and Control Engineering.

According to Philippine Navy, Fornea will join the Naval Officer’s Basic Couse (NOBC) Class 34 at Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command (NETDC) together with her contemporaries from Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 2020. 

“Afterwards she will be assigned directly to PMA for at least 6 months to get accustomed on the present AFP organization, and to share the graduate’s gained knowledge in order to enhance the PMA training curriculum,” the Philippine Navy said.

It added that, consequently, she will then be commissioned as ensign in the Philippine Navy.
