Term ‘mass testing’ incorrect, we are doing expanded targeted testing: Palace

Kaya nga po mali ang terminong mass testing,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during May 19 press briefing.

However, Secretary Roque said the government is taking COVID-19 testing seriously through expanded targeted testing which is based on global benchmark. He added that the government even assigned a T3 (Test, Trace, Treat) czar.

Secretary Roque said that under the government’s testing program all symptomatic, coming from abroad, with close contact to confirmed case, and positive in rapid antibody test are being tested through polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Yes kakaunti tayo nagsimula pero we are aiming now for 30,000 [tests a day],” he explained.
