Subic-Clark cargo railway project now for Duterte approval

The Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee (ICC-CabCom) of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) has approved on January 26 the proposed Subic-Clark Railway Project.

The railway will provide rail freight connection between Subic Bay and Clark Freeport Zone, NEDA said.

This project is now for the approval of NEDA Board chaired by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“This joint project of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) is one of the Duterte Administration’s 75 flagship projects,” NEDA said.

“Expected to deliver high economic returns, the 71.13-kilometer rail connection aims to support current industrial activities and the potential demand for freight services along the Subic-Clark corridor,” it added.
