Public Works Secretary Mark Villa has posted in his social networking page a photo of the Ninoy Aquino Stadium at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex being transformed into a health facility in support of government’s COVID-19 response.
“The Ninoy Aquino Stadium at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex will be operational as a COVID Health Facility by next week,” Secretary Villar said.
Rizal Memorial Sports Complex is one of the locations chosen to be transformed as COVID-19 facilities in Metro Manila to decongest hospitals.
Works for Forum Halls of Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and World Trade Center (WTC) are also ongoing.
Villar said in a release by DPWH that the completion of health facilities at PICC and WTC is within 10 days.
The DOH will then manage the operation of completed health facilities with possible assistance from private health care providers.
