Special Forces clash with Abu Sayyaf terrorists in Langhub, Patikul


Members of the 2nd Special Forces Battalion had a clash with more or less 15 Abu Sayyaf Group terrorists in Brgy. Langhub, Patikul Sulu 10 am of January 22, Philippine Army 11th Infantry Division commander Major General William N. Gonzales said.

“The Combat Group of the 2nd Special Forces Battalion led by Cpt Ramer R Cababaan encountered more or less fifteen (15) Abu Sayyaf Members believed to be under senior leader Radulan Sahiron,” Major General Gonzales said.

“The encounter resulted in the recovery of an M16 Rifle, charging handle and firing mechanism of an M16, backpacks, cell phones and combat boots,” he added.


The division commander noted that the firefight lasted for 15 minutes and the enemy fled to the south–southeast direction.

“I have instructed the whole 1101 Infantry “Gagandilan” Brigade under Colonel Antonio Bautista Jr. to continue the pursuit of the fleeing bandits,” Major General Gonzales said.
