South Korea Defense Attaché visits Philippine Fleet

Republic of Korea (South Korea) Defense Attaché to Philippines Lieutenant Colonel Bae Jung Hoon paid a courtesy call to Philippine Fleet commander Rear Admiral Loumer P. Bernabe at Headquarters Philippine Fleet, Naval Base Heracleo Alano on October 5, 2020.

“The purpose of his visit was to discuss matters concerning Philippines and Republic of Korea (PH-ROK) Navy defense relations,” the Philippine Fleet said.

The Philippine Fleet noted that the visit was conducted under a “new normal” situation with strict adherence to health and biosafety protocols such as limited social distancing and mandatory wearing of face mask and face shield.

“The fruitful visit was highlighted by a forum with the different commanders of the Forces, Groups, Wing and Center discussing mutual interests of navy to navy trainings, support and new ideas of enhancing the cooperation’s between navies,” it added.

“The activity culminated with the exchanges of mementos/souvenirs between the Defence Attaché and the Commander Philippine Fleet,” the Philippine Fleet said.
