Senator Bato vows support for continued modernization of Navy

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa visited Headquarters Philippine Navy, Naval Station Jose Andrada, Roxas Blvd., Manila today, August 19.

During his visit, Senator Bato affirmed his commitment for continued modernization of the Philippine Navy.

The Philippine Navy said Senator dela Rosa was accorded military honors by Sailors and Marines. He was warmly welcomed by the Flag Officer-in Command Vice Admiral Robert A. Empedrad together with other high ranking Navy officials.

Dela Rosa, a former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief and Bureau of Corrections chief, was pinned with Honorary Flag Rank Command Badge.

“I’m here to support you. Hanggang makaya ng gobyerno ibigay, wala naman kayong hihingin na hindi ikabubuti ng ating bansa. You can expect support you all the way,” the senator said.

“Ang ating bansa, being archipelagic in nature, talagang kailangan natin ang Navy. And yet of the three branches of service, ang Navy ang hindi gaanong natutukan,” he added.

Vice Admiral Empedrad expressed gratitude to the senator for making the Navy one of his first stops in his rounds in different government agencies.

He also lauded dela Rosa for his unwavering concern for the PNP and Armed Forces of the Philippines, and work in peace and order of the country.
