Once the entire C5 South Link Expressway is completed, this vital project will reduce travel time between Villamor Air Base in Pasay and Taguig from the usual 1.5 hours to just 45 minutes.

“Ngayon ‘ho nandito tayo ngayon upang pasinayaan ang isang proyektong mag-uugnay at magbibigay ng smooth flow ng ating trapiko at transportasyon. Ito po ang magbibigay-tibay sa sinabi ng ating Pangulo na ang DPWH sa pangunguna ng ating mahal na si Secretary Mark Villar ay indeed the architect and engineer in the construction of road, highways and bridges,” said Secretary Tugade.

The construction of Segment 3A1, a 2.2-kilometer flyover crossing South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) traversing Taguig and Pasay City, aims to alleviate congestion and enable motorists to easily cross from Merville, Parañaque to Taguig and vice versa.

“It’s a team effort. We were able to hit our target. Ganito tayo sa Duterte administration. We set high goals but we hit those goals. Kapag may request kami, ‘yung approval talaga agad binibigay ni Sec. Art. This is also your project, kaya congratulations,” said Secretary Villar.

The alignment features the bridge that crosses Metro Manila Skyway (at-grade) and SLEX. The C5 Link flyover is expected to reduce vehicular traffic in Sales interchange near Villamor Air Base.

Also in attendance were Parañaque Rep. Eric Olivarez, Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez, Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano, DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Mark de Leon, Philippine National Railways (PNR) General Manager Junn Magno, and MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia.
