6ID said that AFP and PNP personnel will be deployed across the ARMM, cities of Cotabato and Isabela, the province of Lanao del Norte and a number of Municipalities in North Cotabato to ensure that the BOL plebiscite on January 21 and February 6 will be done freely, orderly, credible, honest and peaceful.

“Your armed forces assure the people that we are all set and ready for this historic event. We have already identified the gaps and have addressed them accordingly through the Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Council (JPSCC) national level meeting last 10 January 2019. This has allowed us to instill necessary measures and initiatives to ensure the safe, free and orderly plebiscite for the ratification of the BOL,” AFP Chief-of-Staff General Benjamin R. Madrigal Jr. said during the send-off ceremony.

“We are now moving towards a new chapter of mutual understanding, away from the bitter memories of the past. It is now in our hands to make sure that we continue our pursuit for just and lasting peace and sustainable inclusive development,” GEneral Madrigal said.
