The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that the second train set – consisting of 3 of 48 CRRC Dalian light rail vehicles (LRVs) – was deployed for Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) validation test on Tuesday, December 11.
“The three-car configuration train set will run during off-peak hours – 9AM to 3PM from December 11 to 15 and 6am to 9pm from December 16 to 23,” DOTr said.
Before deployment for RAMS validation test, the said train set underwent rigorous testing and commissioning, DOTr explained.
DOTr Undersecretary for Railways Timothy John Batan previously said the Dalian coaches must first finish the 1,000-kilometer test run for 150 hours before it’s completely rolled out during peak-hours of the MRT-3 operations.
In October, first three of 48 LRVs, forming the first train set, was deployed.
