“Everything will be easier if it is the plan of God so I think siguro before I think about that, I should ask God first if “Is this for me?”,” daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said when asked if she will run for presidency in 2022.
She was asked during a special episode of Kingdom of Jesus Christ Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy’s program Give Us This Day on August 2.
“Siguro para hindi tayo magkamali, we need to pray for wisdom on how to go about it and how to decide,” she added.
In the same program on June 8, President Duterte discouraged his daughter to run for any national office.
“I am stating publicly now that I am discouraging my daughter to run for any national office. Maawa kasi ako. It’s an office – entitlement of ano, honor, lahat. Pero sabihin ko kay Inday pati kay Pulong, it doesn’t pay,” President Duterte said.
“Huwag ‘day magdusa ka. I have to swallow ‘yung ginagawa sa inyo. Nakita mo ‘pag ginagawa akong mga – ng mga drug pusher. As long as we have politicians like Trillanes, itong mga Magdalo. Akala mo kung sila lang rin ang marunong. They think they are the only patriots of this country. ‘Yung mga Otso Diretso. You better… Huwag na lang,” President Duterte added.
“Pagka ayaw mo ng mayor, ‘di kausapin mo si – dalawa. Kung gusto ng tao. The best thing is really to feel the pulse of the community. If you think that they are already in the midst of – matagal na kasi ang Duterte eh,” he said.
“And as the Ecclesiastes 3 of the Bible says, there is always a time for everything. So maski gaano kami kasikat na pamilya, there will always be a time to fade. I maybe the more brighter than the lights here shining as President but I will grow dim three years from now,” he added.
