Infrastructure development at the Sangley Airport in Cavite is now 54.94% complete due to 24/7 construction, which started 13 June 2019.
These progress work photos were taken from August 5 to August 7, 2019, showing the accelerated pace of construction.
The project covers structural works for the passenger terminal building (PTB), grade preparation for the concrete slab at the airport’s hangar, roofing and gutter installation, preparation of gravel base course and concrete pouring for the ramp and taxiway, and the construction of the airport’s drainage system.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade ordered for the 24/7 construction works at Sangley Airport to meet the November 2019 deadline set by President Rodrigo Duterte for the airport to commence general aviation and turboprop operations, and aid in the decongestion of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
