Russian Navy’s newest large patrol ship developed under Project 22160, Vasily Bykov is now preparing for sailing off, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The said patrol ship was commissioned to Russian Navy service on December 20, 2018.
“Sailors have already trained to organise ship service and arrangements for preparing the ship for battle and voyage,” the Russian MOD said.
“In particular, the shipboard exercises on air defence, damage control were held –– the emergency group carried out measures to eliminate simulated fire source in one of the ship’s compartments, as well as plugging holes and pumping out the incoming outboard water,” it added.
The Russian MOD noted that as the final stage of crew training, the ship will sail off for artillery drills engaging sea and air targets.
