Russian Navy warships arrive in Manila

A Russian Navy flotilla composed of anti-submarine destroyer Admiral Panteleyev, guided-missile cruiser Varyag, and large sea tanker Boris Botuma arrived today for a 5-day goodwill visit.

The Russian Navy ships docked in Manila South Harbor after being accorded with customary meeting procedure by Philippine Navy at the vicinity water of Corregidor Island.

The goodwill visit will end on January 11.

This is the first reported goodwill visit made by a foreign navy to the Philippines in 2019.
