Russian cruiser, anti-submarine destroyer visiting Philippines

A Russian Navy flotilla composed of anti-submarine destroyer Admiral Panteleyev, guided-missile cruiser Varyag, and large sea tanker Boris Botuma will be arriving in Philippines for a goodwill visit from January 6 to 11.

The Russian ships will be docking at Pier 9, South Harbor, Manila.

“Welcome ceremony and port briefing will be conducted upon arrival of the Russian vessels after a customary meeting procedure with the designated [Philippine Navy] vessel at the vicinity of Corregidor Island,” Philippine Navy spokesperson Commander Jonathan Zata said as quoted by PNA.
