Roque does not see tension in West Philippine Sea

Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque said on May 18 that while there is a problem, he does not see tension in West Philippine Sea.

“Wala po akong nakikitang tensiyon sa West Philippine Sea,” he said during a press briefing.

He added that tension is only created by critics of the Duterte administration.

The presidential spokesperson made the statement when asked, amid West Philippine Sea tension “what leverages does the Philippines have against China’s encroachment into our territory to deter them from any further advances into our territorial waters?”
