Remains of gallant Army troopers arrive at Villamor Air Base


The remains of 8 of 11 gallant Philippine Army soldiers, who died in gun battle with terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) on April 17 in Sulu, have arrived and accorded with military honors at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.

Three of the 11 were transported to their hometowns in Visayas and Mindanao.

“Our flags in all military camps around the country will be flown at half-mast as 11 Army heroes offered their lives on April 17, 2020 at past 3PM to protect and defend the people of Sulu,” the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said.

The Armed Forces noted that while the entire nation is grappling with COVID-19 pandemic, our troopers are in the forefront as the government’s arm to prevent the spread of the dreaded disease on the one hand while in the other, they are battling this terrorist ASG.
