The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) today, June 27 inaugurated what it said to be the largest molecular laboratory in the country at PRC-Port Area. According to PRC, the said facility can run up to 14,000 tests a day.
“With this expansion, the Philippine Red Cross now has a capacity to test 22,000 samples a day in Metro Manila, which is the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines,” PRC Chairman Senator Richard J. Gordon said.
The inauguration was attended by Australian Ambassador Steven Robinson AO, GT Foundation President and trustee of Metrobank Foundation Mr. Alfred Ty, and President of the Federation of the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce Mr. Henry Bon Liong who also donated the equipment for the said Molecular Laboratory.
Also in the inauguration are Health Secretary Francisco Duque, IATF Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez, IATF Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon, and PhilHealth President Ricardo Morales.
