The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) under Police Chief Superintendent Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. on June 14 received 25 units of brand new Toyota Vios patrol cars and 100 units of Israel Military Industries (IMI) Galil assault rifles.
The new equipment of QCPD were donated by Quezon City government. Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Director General Oscar D, Albayalde, and NCRPO Director Police Chief Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar were present during the turn over ceremony held at at the QCPD Headquarters in Camp Tomas Karingal, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.
Mayor Bautista reiterated to the officers of QCPD to maintain peace and order at all times in the city. He also asked PNP chief Albayalde to continue instilling discipline to QC policemen who commit infractions and violate policies of the organization.
Esquivel said the 25 new mobile patrol vehicles will be distributed to different offices and units at QCPD headquarters, PS-1 La Loma, PS-4 Novaliches, PS-5 Fairview and PS-6 Batasan.
He also said that each of the 12 QCPD stations will get three assault rifles and the rest will be distributed to other units and offices of QCPD.
“These additional law enforcement resources will further improve the logistical capabilities of the local police force in patrolling the communities and ensuring that the peace and order are maintained in their respective area of responsibility. These will further boost the shoot and move capabilities of police units to respond quickly to calls for law enforcement and police service,” PNP chief Albayalde said.
