President Duterte receives 20 Montero patrol vehicles from Japan

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte received 20 units of Mitsubishi Montero patrol vehicles donated by the government of Japan to Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu city police stations on Monday, February 12.

Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines Koji Haneda represented the Japanese government during the turn over conducted at the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Headquarters in Camp Sergio OsmeƱa Sr., Cebu City.

Also present were PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan Hiroto Izumi.

Duterte also inspected firearms which were recently confiscated in Danao City, the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) said.

“He then proceeded to the conference room of PRO7 and conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu Rank of Kampilan to PO2 Aristeo A. Tampus of San Fernando Police Station in Cebu City,” PCOO said. “He was wounded during a drug buy-bust operation on February 4 in Cebu City.”
