The Philippines and Poland have signed an Implementation Agreement with regards to the purchase of arms and military equipment on April 7.
According to report by Inquirer.net, the agreement “will pave the way for government-to-government deals on defense hardware, including additional Black Hawk multi-role helicopters.”
The Philippine government, in 2019, has ordered 16 Polish-made Sikorsky S-70-i Black Hawk combat utility helicopters for the Philippine Air Force (PAF). Five units were already delivered.
“Signing ceremony on-line of ‘Implementation Agreement with regard to the purchase of arms and military equipment’ between Poland and the Philippines on 07 April 2021 in the presence of Assistant Secretary Jesus Rey Avilla, assigned signatory from the PH side. Brigadier General Karol Dymanowski was co-signatory on the PL side,” the Polish embassy said.
“The agreement provides guidelines on defense procurement rules and procedures and constitutes legal framework for intergovernmental procurement,” it added.
