Philippine National Police (PNP) special units from different units around the country showed response capabilities in addressing general threat during the three-day 1st National Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Challenge held in Davao City.
The PNP’s first ever inter-unit national SWAT competition aims to determine the response capability of the SWAT Units in addressing general threats that require tactical police action, PNP Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa said.
Participants are from the PNP SWAT units of the National Headquarters, Command Group, Directorial/Personal Staff, National Support Units, Police Regional Office, and the five (5) Police Districts of the National Capital Region Police Office.
Each office or unit was required to send their respective 10-man teams composed of eight assault members and two-man snipers.
Awards include Top 3 for Rifle Match, Top 3 for Pistol Match, Top 3 for Obstacle/Endurance Firing, Top 3 for Event Champion and Top 3 for Best in Uniform.
