The Internal Affairs Service (IAS) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed criminal complaints against National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Police Major General Debold Sinas, and 18 other police officers in connection with his birthday event on May 8 allegedly violating Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act and Taguig City ordinance.
The complaints were filed before Taguig Prosecutor’s Office.
“Nineteen so far ang na-identify kaya sila muna ang kakasuhan today,” PNP-IAS head Alfegar Triambulo said as quoted by Inquirer.net.
Presidential spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque said on May 14 that the PNP is also getting clearance from the Office of the President (OP) regarding the filing of administrative charges in violation of quarantine rules against the alleged violators.
“Maj. Gen. Sinas is a third level officer and a presidential appointee; hence, a clearance from the OP is needed for the filing of administrative charges of the PNP,” Roque said.
