“This milestone in the history of the PNP started on┬áDecember 5, 2019 producing 11 successful graduates (3 females and 8 males). The BHPT is part of the strengthening efforts of PNP SAF Air Unit to produce a PNP pool of pilots to man the newly procured helicopters of the PNP,” PNP-SAF said.

The graduates will be issued Private Pilot License (Helicopter) and will be qualified to become co-pilots and soon pilots-in-command to operate PNP air assets upon satisfying the required flight time.

“Moreover, 8 of them will also train for their transition to the Airbus H125. On the other hand, the incoming batch is composed of 14 student-pilots (1 female and 13 males). They will undergo the same training to complete the 228 training hours divided into four modules,” PNP-SAF added.

PNP-SAF noted that its Air Unit is the only technical unit of SAF among its 15 line battalions with primary task to provide air support to all PNP units in the conduct of law enforcement operations, tactical operations, disaster relief, search and rescue and other urgent field/staff flight operations to include the training and development of its pilots and aircraft mechanics.

SAF Air Unite has 7 Air Stations strategically stationed in the major airports of the country.
